Frantic

Well, we're all back in Platteville safely. Obviously, the idea of posting photos and blurbs about what is happening didn't quite pan out as planned.

This trip was a blitz. We piled in vans and took off at midnight Monday, technically Tuesday morning?

I drove the first 6 hour leg through the night. I swapped drivers somewhere, piled into the back of the van and tried to get some sleep. I ended up driving another leg somewhere near Pittsburg. I woke up in Washington DC. We decided (they decided anyway.....I was sound asleep.) to hit DC on our way to Newport News. We did hit DC......at 5:00pm. Traffic, traffic, traffic.

We were able to come up with enough change for 80 minutes of parking meter time for both vans. That was the extent of our time in DC and we continued with our drive toward the hotel in Newport News.

We arrived at our hotel at midnight on Tuesday. 24 hours on the road, with various gas stops and our frantic DC visit.
